the SmartFoxServer Team is delighted to announce the launch of the next generation of the SmartFox products, called SmartFoxServer 2X.

The new platform is not just a simple update based on the existing codebase. We have been working on this release for over 1 ½ year re-designing the core, framework and API to provide the next generation of massive multiplayer platforms.

SmartFoxServer 2X (shorty SFS2X) takes the core SmartFoxServer philosophy and expands it in new directions, introducing dozens of improvements and focusing on a few precise goals: simplicity of use, versatility, performance.

• Simplicity of use: we have cleaned up all unnecessary complexities making the client/server API more intuitive, streamlined and richer.


• Versatility: we have re-designed parts of the architecture to make it largely more flexible. This will in turn help developers to design their applications more conveniently and with a finer-grained level of control.


• Performance: SmartFox is already known for its top-notch performance. SFS2X continues this trend employing version 3.0 of our custom network engine (codename BitSwarm) which provides binary protocol with dynamic compression, UDP support, JMX monitoring, transparent reconnection system, high performance http-tunnelling and heaps more…

SmartFoxServer 2X Community Edition is the ideal tool for anyone to evaluate and get started with one of the most sophisticated multiplayer framework available. Developers, indie game studios, students, educational institutes... anyone can enjoy developing for free with SFS2X.

You will be able to evaluate the product as long as you wish, develop your own projects and put them in production. You will also be able to choose among very affordable commercial licenses for all project sizes and with a friendly upgradr fee.
