Syncing Movement of a non client Across the Network?

Postby MattH » 07 May 2009, 21:01

I stripped the island demo to the bare minimums. A rolling ball on a plane. I am able to have my buddy connect to me. We see each other rolling.

Now for the question of the day.

I want to add another ball, AI rolling around. I want to "sync" its movements to both clients that are connected.

How would this work? Would the first person thats connected to the game create this ai locally and send it to the server which then sends it to all clients. If another client bumped into the ball would he then send his local ai spheres to the server and then the server update the others.

I am kind of confused how this works. Any help is appreciated.
