Auto Alert : by mail when max user limit is reached

Postby martinselva » 07 Mar 2008, 08:15

Hi,

I am using "Smart Fox Server Basic ver1.5.5"

Is there a way to automate a Mail Alert once Max Connection is Reached on the Smart Fox Server

We don't provide such functionality, I am sorry.
Additionally I don't get what help could provide this, can you explain?

Well probably not using ver 1.5.5, but if you upgrade to the PRO version you may be able to set up an extension that calls the mail system to send you an e-mail after the number of players within a zone reached a limit.
Yea I can see the functionality on this, although its not that much helpful. The best way to see if you're having more users then you can handle is checking the admin tool statistics (Users and Max connections). If you're max connection is the exact number of your license, then it's time to change :)

martinselva: one simple workaround is to catch the login error on the client side and call a PHP/ASP page on your server that sends you a notification.
You could also store the timestamp of the last time in which the event occurred so that you don't send too many emails at once.
