Error when starting Redbox

Postby appels » 12 Oct 2010, 11:36

Hi,

I get this error when I try to start Redbox on Vista :

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Files
at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307)
at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320)
Could not find the main class: Files. Program will exit.
Druk op een toets om door te gaan. . .

It's a java error but i have no idea how to resolve it.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks.

It looks like you have moved or deleted some of the application files. Out of the box you shouldn't have any problems running the RedBox on Vista.

Try re-installing SFS in a brand new folder and see if it works

Hello,
This problem exists when jre is installed in C:\Program Files (x86).
To fix the problem first uninstall Java and install it again in C:\Java\jre6.
After this go to Cotrol Panel --> System --> Advanced system settings --> Environment variables. In the System variables list look for all C:\Program Files (x86)\Java values and change them to C:\Java.
I had exactly the same problem and this solution works for me.

there was no need to uninstall, just added the path to windows

Return to “RedBox”
