Error 503 SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE

Postby matthewlenton » 15 Nov 2009, 23:33

Hello,

I'm having trouble with a new fully licensed install of SFS and BlueBox, everything appears to start fine, and I see 'Web server started' and 'Web server stopped' without error in the wrapper log file when stopping and starting the BlueBox from the AdminTool.

I've included some of our bluebox.properties file here:

Code: Select all

# Can be embedded or stand-alone
serverMode=embedded

# These 2 are available only in stand-alone mode
sfsAddr=127.0.0.1
sfsPort=9339

# This value should always be > 20. A value of 30 is recommended.
client_idle_time=30

# Uncomment if you have set serverMode=stand-alone
# client_idle_request_time=300

# Allows runtime debugging
# You can point the browser to -> http://hostname:port/BlueBox/HttpBox.go?debugCmd=main
debug_mode=true

And then when browsing to http://my.host:8080/BlueBox/ the host responds with:

Code: Select all

HTTP ERROR: 503

Problem accessing /BlueBox/. Reason:

    SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
Powered by Jetty://

Is someone able to suggest some steps to help us? Thanks.

[bump]

This is our second fully licensed Smartfox server.
Is this still the official place for support?

Hi,
sorry for the delay in responding. I've done some researches and asked other colleagues about this problem and it appears to be the first time that we see it.
Also we would need to get more details about the problem.

Off top of my head I would suspect that you have permission problems in your installation folder(s). Are you sure the installation process did go well? No errors at the end of it?

Can you show, or send us via email, the boot logs of the server?

Thanks and sorry again for the late reply

Hi Lapo,

I've revisited this problem again today and solved it by replacing the JRE with v1.6.0_15. Now, it works! Thought I should let you know.

Thanks again for an excellent product and the ongoing support.

Matthew.
