Postby lordali » 06 Nov 2010, 06:02

Do we need any Client side API for Silverlight to work with SFS2X? .
Do we need to add any DLL refernce to work with Silverlight? .
Anything you want to share.

Hi,
Silverlight is not "officially" supported yet. Unfortunately the current C# API that work for .Net and Unity will not work under Silverlight. They use a different set of .Net classes so it requires more work on our side to create a specific set of API.

We have plans to release the API in a future release. Possibly the RC2

As Marco said, the current C# API is not Silverlight compatible. We will have to make some changes and recompile the API with the Silverlight tools to make it work.

Should not be a huge job, but its not been done yet.

On a different note, as a developer I would be unsure about the future of Silverlight in general.

Microsoft officially goes for HTML5 as the future - and Silverlight is now seen as a gap filler in my oppinion.

How that will influence the API in the future is up to Marco. Right now HTML5 is still future talk and Silverlight is real.

There is no date set at the moment, but it's definitely in our todo list.
I think it will be after the final release of SFS2X, coming in Q1 2011
