Tracing

Postby Rotty956 » 06 Jan 2011, 14:01

Hello everyone
I been trying to find out where the trace statements output when used in an extension. I used smartfox 1 a bit and the admin had a place where you could see the traces for a given extension. Is this available in Smartfox server 2 admin tool?

if you run the server in a command prompt, it will show the debug there.
you can also check the logs in the install directory.

By command line you mean the stand alone versus the service? And the logs your not referring to the boot logs.

As far as I know, the logs are not available in the new admin tool ... yet.

The logs are available in the SFS2X/logs directory. I leave a terminal open and cat the log every so often.

Andy, to save yourself some typing, try

tail -f smartfox.log

That'll continuously scroll it.

Not yet but we'll include it in a later release. For now the suggestion given by tchen is probably the best or you can just keep the console open.
