Admintool not able to create new zones? :(

Hey all,

New to SFS. I have the server installed and am now trying to use the admintool to create a zone. I go to the "Zone Configuator" and create a zone successfully... and I remvoe the other default zones there (ie. simplechat).

I then click on the "Zone Monitor" tab and my zone is not there... and there are 2 other zones I didn't create there (ie. GameLobby and SimpleChat).

Where is my zone? what am I doing wrong? Thanks

did you submit the change at the bottom ?

Yes, after I entered in the basic details I clicked "submit". It then said :

"New zone configuartion added successfully"

and I can see it in the list of zones.

However, it doesn't show up in the "Zone monitor"

You need to restart the server for the changes to take effect.

Hey there!

I've got the same problem. I created my zone and removed the other ones. I even connected sometimes, but when I created a second room into that zone it just stopped showing in the Zone Monitor listing, and my client says that the zone doesn't exist.

Is there any bug on that? Any procedure I'm not knowing about?

(PS.: I already restarted, forced reload, stopped, startet again, and again, and again...and I did submited the changes I made)

Anyone shed any light on this problem? I am having the same one, it is really frustrating. Everything recognizes the changes except the zone monitor. It seems the only thing it monitors is the stock server config.

Problem is you don't restart the server as we explain in the documentation.
I will say it once more: the Zone Configurator does not make any changes at runtime. It stores the new configuration on disk so that on the next restart the server will start up with the new settings.
