Sorry, no. This is an "all or nothing" kind of deal :)
Since all clients receive updates related to other players allowing insecure traffic would lower the security of the encrypted ones as well.

My suggestion is to update all clients to support encryption.

From this point it makes sense of course.

By the way! Xbox provided us form where we filled in great detail how we are going to provide traffic encryption. This form was reviewed by the XR owner. And today they replied that we are fine and our implementation is good to go :D great!
