reset log file

Postby FireSmartFox » 05 Jan 2019, 14:45

Sometimes I have to scroll down a bit while testing a SFS2X app when I open the log file. Any chance to delete the log file to have a new one (so I don't have to wait for the next period of time in which a new file will be created)? I deleted once the file, but the it seems just hidden and a new one was not created for a certain time.

Hi,
log files are meant to accumulate data a certain amount of data be, so there's no way to auto-delete them.
However for development you can simply run the server via the sfs2x.bat / sfs2sx.sh so you can follow the logs on screen, directly.

Another way would be to change the log level to WARN so that the server will log a lot less stuff and you it would be easier to find errors.
More details here: http://docs2x.smartfoxserver.com/Gettin ... figuration

Hope it helps

Using sfs2sx.sh to see it live on screen is great. :)
