I just ran the mmo demo on a jelastic server..
my clients have disconnected, but the npcs are still running on the server.
I tried to remove the room from zone monitor, but nothing happens..
How do I close the zone / gane server without restarting jelastic?
How to Close a zone?
Re: How to Close a zone?
Hi,
I am not sure what you mean by closing a Zone.
Zones represent different applications running in the Server.
If you don't want a Zone to exist anymore you can remove it from the AdminTool and it will disappear on the next restart.
As regards Removing a specific Room.
1) If you want to remove it at runtime (while the server is running) you go to ZoneManager -> select Room -> Remove
2) If you want to remove it from the config (so that it doesn't get recreated on the next restart) you got to ZoneConfigurator -> selectRoom -> Remove
Hope it helps

Re: How to Close a zone?
ie: I want to take down that server for maintenance, how would I do it?
the SFS have 10 zones running (zones 1..10)
I want to take down zone 5 only, how would I do that?

Re: How to Close a zone?
Normally "taking down a server for maintenance" means that you temporarily shut it down, work on it and restart it.
Maybe during the down time you could have another passive server hosting users while the work is complete.
In any case you can de-activate a Zone at runtime via the AdminTool > ZoneMonitor
Choose the Zone you wish to stop and in the "Runtime Zone Settings" click the isActive switch. Then apply the settings.
Keep in mind that if the Zone is filled with Users those connected will not be kicked out. Only new logins will be refused.
On the other hand if you want everybody out, then the simplest way is to just shutdown the server.
