Hey guys so i want to use these two at the same time so i did this:
localhost 127.0.0.1 for sfs
localhostdb 127.0.0.2 for wamp
in hosts file. But its not working. The last time it worked. Any help?
wamp vs sfs
Re: wamp vs sfs
The problem is that 127.0.0.2 and 127.0.0.1 are virtual addresses and they all point to the same address.
So it can't be done that way. You will need to change ports so that they don't collide.
Cheers

Re: wamp vs sfs
Thanks, what ports should i use?
Re: wamp vs sfs
I don't know exactly which ports your wamp uses.
Do you just run a database or there's more? I am not familiar with that product, although I imagine it contains the usual Apache/PHP/Mysql etc... are you running them all?

Re: wamp vs sfs
Yes those 3. I'm not sure about php but apache and mysql run for sure.
Re: wamp vs sfs
The port collision is between SmartFoxServer's internal http server running on port 8080 and Apache, evidently.
You can change SFS's internal http server config by editing the config/jetty/jetty.xml file and use another port, e.g. 8082.

Re: wamp vs sfs
Ok, so they will both look at localhost but in different ports?
Re: wamp vs sfs
Cool, in the file it says about default port 8080, confidential port 8440 and a socket-something port 8082. I also have this problem that it cant bound the sockets after restart. Its probably because of the wamp that runs, what ports should i edit in the file to avoid the whole conflict?
Re: wamp vs sfs
Hi,
On SFS you have to update the listening socket addresses, at the Zone Configurator module, and Jetty's port at the config/jetty/jetty.xml file.
On WAMP, you have to update, at least, Apache's port at the httpd.conf file, and you can also change MySQLs port in case it is conflicting.
Don't forget to restart each of the servers each time you update their configurations.
If it is still conflicting, can you show the logs and tell us which program is using which port?
Thanks

Re: wamp vs sfs
Hello, right now i dont think i need to change ports i see no conflinct. The only problem i see in that smartfoxserver can't bound sockets after i restart it. And its not wamp's fault, i had it closed
