getting heightdata from unity to sfs java

Postby Robbilie » 27 Feb 2011, 12:16

hey guys
Maybe wrong thread but i thought it is more sfs in general than only unity...

So to make my mobs move correctly i want to get the terrain heightmap to java to make the mobs move over the terrain in unity

Any ideas how to do that?

Thanks in advance ;)

Things like that you'd want to make as an export process from Unity editor to your own personal file format which you read in on the server side.

hey

Yes my teacher had the idea of importing a mesh to sfs.... I have the export script...

But how to get the obj to smartfox?

Ive read something about jME JAVA MONKEY ENGINE.... Objtojme....

But how to use?
Is there another way?

EDIT: java has an integrarted 3d import so i could import over this...?
and since i think the exporter from unity creates wavefront obj files there may be another way...

I need to get the height at a special coordinate...x and z given y wanted

Look up the format specification for OBJ files and parse it in yourself. Format wise, it doesn't get any easier than obj.
