Drag&drop functionality without DisplayObjectWrapper

Hi,

Is it possible to add items to the map (in edit mode) without using the DisplayObjectWrapper component?

The DisplayObjectWrapper is used in our example to allow displaying an inventory item in Flex. Not sure how you can do it in a different way.
