Iphone / ipod touch massive delays

Hi
We are developing a multiplayer iphone/touch game that uses smartfox for online multiplayer.
We are experiencing weird random delays when playing on devices. These delays can vary from 2 seconds to 5 minutes. Quite often on the wrong side of 30 seconds.
These delays do not occur in the simulator just when deployed on the ipod Touches.

We have tried both the traditional connection and bluebox. Bluebox behaves a little better but not much.

This game is turned based with rather few messages sent and maximum delay between messages 15 seconds.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Might have discovered the problem

This might be a problem with the router (Zyxel 600 series) and the iphones. Tried pinging one, and there is a severe packetloss going on. We tried using smartfox via 3G and it seemed to work fine.

We will try a speedtouch router tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

The router was the problem, I have not run into this problem since.
