Can't connect to the Admin tool

Postby kers7754 » 08 Nov 2010, 22:43

I have a dedicated windows server running the Smart Fox Server 1.6.9.

How do I connect to any example or the admin tool from outside of that box?

SFS is set to listen on all server addresses with the default port 9339.

I can see the intro page here:
http://184.168.65.119:8080/

But non of the examples will connect to SFS server.

I have searched all over the forums and reinstalled SFS many times.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you configured your SWF file to point to 184.168.65.119 and 9339? Also ensure that your network/internet provider is not blocking 9339. You could check this by going to: http://www.canyouseeme.org/

I am a little embarrased. I was able to get the admin tool working with SFSX2, but not with SFS 1.6.9.

canyouseeme.org can correctly see 184.168.65.119:9339.

How do I configure my SWF file to point to 184.168.65.119:9339?

The connection settings would be defined in the flash application which generates the SWF file. It's usually located where you call smartFox.connect(...) where smartFox is your SmartFoxClient instance.

I am trying to load the admintool.swf. Isn't this the built in server administrator tool?

or do I have to create a website and move this admintool.swf into that new site?
