SmartFoxServer PRO is available!
It actually took more time than what we expected to have the product ready, but we also added a few extra features (that were not planned) to the final release.
The list of new fetaures would be quite huge so I'd reccomend to check the product page ( http://www.smartfoxserver.com/products/pro.php ) and product table ( http://www.smartfoxserver.com/products/ )
You will find a new updated documentation section ( http://www.smartfoxserver.com/docs/ ) with a lot of new tutorials and articles, an updated version of the Administrator Tool , updated client APIs for AS1 and AS2 and finally, for all Mac users, a .dmg package to download.
As usual the software comes for free with a 20 user licence, and it can be downloaded from here >> http://www.smartfoxserver.com/products/ ... #downloads
Versioning curiosity:
For those who may be wondering why SFS PRO is version 1.2.4 while the latest SFS Basic available is version is 1.1.1, here's the short story: both versions share the same server engine. Since the release of SFS Basic 1.1.1 we've enhanced such engine to support all new features of SFS PRO, so we've gone through many different internal releases, previews, and release candidates... This is why first public release has the 1.2.4 version number
Future plans:
In the next months we'll release a new, updated version of SFS Basic and we'll finally incorporate the latest SmartFoxServer engine in the Lite edition with a nice surprise...
I'll ley you know when it's the right time
Stay tuned!
SmartFoxServer PRO available!
I'm very impressed about your great work!
I used some selfmade socketservers (perl, java) before and tried the open source oregano-server also, but your smartFox is my future choice. :O)
I have some questions about licencing:
Since we change servers and ip's often and try to balance our server resources: Is it easy to change the IP specific licence to another IP, if we need to do it fast?
Is it possible to change for example a 1000 user licence to 2x500 user licences if we need to?
Otherwise i it would be better to get more smaller licences from the beginning.
thanx for this product again, its amazing.

Hi and thanks
About the licensing system everything is pretty simple: you can upgrade your licence at any time by paying the difference between the old one and the new one. And yes it would also be possible to split them, if you need it.
In general I'd reccomend to use one single licence on a dedicated server machine, if you expect lots of traffic. I think it's easier to manage than having more instances...
Let me know if you have any other questions
