Does anyone know of any good hosting companies, i see that the smartfoxserver is soon going to be launching their own hosting service, but i need to find something quite quickly, anyone got any ideas, or anyone know how long till the smartfoxserver hosting package is going to up and running.

We can already provide hosting for SmartFoxServer Basic, and we're going to provide more detail on this website in short time.

For SFS PRO we won't provide hosting because we recommend a dedicated machine. The PRO version, with the use of extensions, can exploit any resource of the server, access the file system, databases etc...

Because of this it would be more difficult for us to provide shared hosting.

As of today there are many hosting companies providing virtual hosting packages at affordable prices, in the range of 10 to 30 dollars/euro per month.
Using a "Virtual Private Server" you're running your dedicated server inside a virtual machine, completely isolated from other users sharing the same server.
This way you can have root access and manage your server without limitations, usually with a simple control panel.

Hi,
this is quite an old post.

As of today Virtual Private Servers are the best solution for running SmartFoxServer. They allow you to have total control over the server and install any software of your choice. And the price is very good, usually in the 10 - 30 $/€ per month.

Just check some the links posted above or just serach in google, you will probably find various hosting companies offerting VPS plans near your location.

Thanks, I set up a VPS account.. although I'm having trouble executing the start.sh script.

./start.sh

Gives me an "invalid command." error from the command line.
Any idea what the right command might be, or where I could find it?
