strategies of avatar movent in the room

i wont to limit the space the avatar can go and i consider of letting the graphic designer define the space that the avatar can move in the room

and in the code i will check onEnterFame if there a hit test between the mc that define the working environment and the mc of the avatar

but i an not shore that this is a good strategies because i might be to resource consuming ??
any one have try this strategy ?
