So I plan on buying an unlimited license this month, but I'm running my game on EC2 and this License Server has really thrown a monkey wrench into my plans. I don't have a fixed IP at the office to run a license server on. And even if I did, this whole license server adds another point of failure to...

One solution might be to have "Room Attributes" -- static attributes you apply to a room that can be seen outside of the room. The reason why I'd like to see room variables outside of a room is when filtering a room list--I want to only list rooms that have games appropriate for my charact...

Buying a license for an Amazon EC2 instance

Since Amazon EC2 instances don't know their outside IP address (ifconfig returns 127.0.0.1)--how do we use the license file when running a registered copy? Is there some kind of special licensing scheme for EC2 instances?

Yeah I figured it out earlier. Works like a charm!

So please ignore all my nagging requests for spam and custom profanity filters. This works great!

I used that profanity filter from inversionsoft--worked like a charm.

How do you filter public messages? You can't change the msg parameter in the internaleventobject, can you? All I see is getparam, not setparam. I want to set the text to "*censored*" if I detect profanity or spam.

Hmm--I guess I'm too much of a linux noob. But I'm root when I launch the script...shouldn't that be enough? Also is there a way to give the daemon startup command in init.d permissions to do it as well?

I edited the scripts as shown in the SFS docs to boost the ulimit number. But ulimit is always 1024 regardless. If I just type ulimit -n 20000 at the shell prompt it properly sets the value. But I added that line to the sfs script and start.sh as explained in the docs to no avail. Any ideas on why t...
