Hi NateDog. where are the server side files for the examples? The SmartFoxBits components of the Community Edition Pack do not require any server-side extension! 8) CHeck the video tutorial: you just have to run SmartFoxServer, drag&drop the components on the stage and set a bunch of parameters ...

Hi Yu.

Once you have intercepted messages in your serverside extension, you just have to send an extension message to the moderator, containing (for example) the chat message and the room id. On the client side you can then have different textareas for different rooms.

Then probably your request is quite off-topic in this forum, because it's not related with multiplayer programming. I suggest you to write a post in the gotoAndPlay() forum: you will find a lot of developers who can help you.

Hi Mariana, it's not so clear what you would like to do. If you mean you want to reuse assets from our examples, this is ok (having a "Powered by SmartFoxServer" displayed, with a link to our website, would be fine). If you plan to import your single-player game inside our examples, this i...

It's not clear why to implement gravity on the server side. If you send the coordinates of the avatar continuously, then your client-side approach is correct: manage gravity on the client side, and keep sending coordinates. A little different approach would be if you send moves instead of coordinate...

From this post : Default room behavior: 1- Regular rooms : are destroyed when empty and the owner is not connected to the server anymore (if owner == server, rooms are never destroyed) 2- Game rooms : are destroyed as soon as the last user inside leaves the room. (if owner == server, room is never d...

Hi Sean.

It seems you are trying to create the room 2 times in a row.
Maybe for some reason you are calling the function that creates the room two times. Please double check your program flow.
Otherwise the problem could reside in the extension. Are you sure it doesn't recreate the same room?

You have another typo here. According to documentation, the method is called getVariable, and not getVariables (you have this method too, but you don't have to pass a parameter, and you get the list of all the variables in the room).

It's not clear why, but it seems you are running an example which has been compiled with an api version more recent than the one supported by your sfs version. Are you maybe using two different sfs version in your development environment and in your test environment??? To solve the api problem you s...

Re: rooms not working

danlamb wrote:Hello,

I am using version Basic 1.5 (the linux installation). I just installed everything yesterday. How do I check the api version?

That's not possible, because the Basic 1.5 version doesn't exist.
You can find the server version using the Admin Tool, in the bottom status bar

Did you make changes to the default config file (other than the server ip address)?

Also please check if you don't have a conflict between the server version and the api version. Which is your server version: basic or pro, and which number (1.3, 1.4, etc)?

Dan, we checked your online demo. First of all we would like to ask you to test online one of our examples, without modifications. If it doesn't work correctly (as your demo does), then we can try to understand why. If it works, then probably you have a problem in your client programming. For exampl...
