Hi Lapo, stix, is there any update to this issue? I'm getting a similar issue with my development. In my case, it happens like this: 1. Player A joins Room 1 2. Player B joins Room 1 3. Player A joins Room 2 4. Player B joins Room 2 5. Player B joins Room 1 and moves to (100, 100) 6. Player A joins ...

Hi BigFIsh, you're right, but we're not even onto that point yet. Let's say, we only have one server and within the server itself we can do whatever we want. And say your game has high-traffic on both game chats and micro-transactions (virtual currency only), would you use SFS custom extensions to h...

Thanks, jdx. I agree that we should never let the client directly set data. But when I'm talking about remoting, I was thinking about connecting to Java back-end as usual. The point that I'm trying to figure out is whether it's faster to replace the game-business logic from SFS to remoting. Please s...

Hi corwin, I thought A is the "common" way of doing things with SFS custom extensions. There's no 100% security, packet sniffing is always possible, and security is not my forte. Yes, db communications using separate threads are good and I've seen a lot of people in the forum are doing it....

Remoting vs. Custom extensions

First of all, apology if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it from the search. Which method would be better for building a virtual world that has a lot of database transactions as well as game communications: A. Use SFS custom extensions to perform database operations, so all communication...

Rewind video without redownloading stream

Hi all, I've been using RedBox on a virtual community project that I'm doing and have been investigating a way to rewind a video without re-downloading the stream without much success. As a user, if I've been watching halfway through and then click on the track slider to replay a video segment that ...

RESOLVED!!

Hi Lapo,

I was about the send you the sample codes and noticed that there's a patch for 1.6.8. I tried applying this patch on my local server and it fixes the BlueBox issue that we've been having!

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards,
Anthony

Still not working

Hi Lapo, We've been testing further with the standard out-of-the-box configuration and the AS3 SmartFoxChat example using BlueBox on a local machine. We managed to replicate the problem of being stuck in a state in which we were able to send but not receive data after programatically calling the sen...

Data mining for Flash MMOG

Hi all, I'm building an MMO game using Flash and SmartFoxServer and would like to know if there's any good commercial / free off-the-shelf data mining program that you can use to track player's interactions, or record and playing back testing sessions, etc. I'm thinking of something like this: http:...

BlueBox stops receiving data

Some of our players reported intermittent connection problems when they are behind a firewall. I've researched this thoroughly on the internet as well as on the SmartFoxServer forum and managed to narrow down my findings to one specific issue that have also been brought up by some people here in the...

Same problem for me

Hi Lapo, Dod, I'm facing the same problem with our applications. Mine specifically happens on joining a room. The onJoinRoom event never gets called. When I inspected the debug, the joinRoom was sent but joinOk was never received. I think it may be related to the problem Dod mentioned. Have you guys...
