I changed the code and only left the smartFox.logout() method, like you said. But i still got the same problem, if the user tries to relogin i still get the [WARNING] OpenSpace instance already initialized and although the user is connected to the server it gets no openspace feedback.

If you re running the swf locally, you re probably getting caugth in flash security sandbox. The better way run it locally, is opening the .fla and running it, this way you can see flash outputs, and server outputs and see where its failling, if it is. And enable the extension like bax described, enabling it from outside flash wont work, althought it might show it is enabled. I had similar problem.
