A couple other things: - it works fine on the PC webplayer (also in Firefox) - I'm not even looking up a hostname--it is an IP address--so those exceptions may be a red herring--the ones that matter are on the server (first post). I'll see if there is something else going on. Switching to 2.6 will b...

This is from the player.log; it looks like your suspicions were correct: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known at System.Net.Dns.GetHostByAddressFromString (System.String address, Boolean parse) [0x00000] at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry (System.Net.IPAddress address...

Problem with 1.2.4

I just noticed an issue with the change from 1.2.3 to 1.2.4. I don't understand what it is, but hopefully you will. Repro: Build your Unity game with 1.2.4. Open your game in Firefox (Mac). Close the window/tab (Cmd+W), but do not quit Firefox. Open your game in Firefox again. Result: Failure to con...

I dropped in the 1.2.4 DLL and it works like a charm.

Of course you realize that now I will expect all my issues to have patches available simultaneous with the bug report.

;)

Thanks!

Well, look at that. As I was typing this, a new version came out. I'll try out 1.2.4 and report back if that fixes it!

Problem with BuddyListUpdate - buddy argument not updated

Hello, I am using buddy variables, and when my OnBuddyListUpdate delegate is called, the "buddy" parameter does not contain the information in the message it just received. e.g. when receiving this: [SFS DEBUG] [ RECEIVED ]: <msg t='sys'>
<n><![CDAT...

Is running multiple instances of SFS on the same machine frowned upon? We've been doing it for a short while, with them just set to different ports. It is kind of necessary so we can test out changes while others keep working with the existing setup. But I noticed the warning in the logs today (the ...

I think I understand. So with javaExtensions in the classpath, I won't be able to do the AutoReloadExtension (I can live with that; I couldn't seem to get it to work anyway). The sfsExtensions in the installer's classpath must just be a typo/bug. And it is good to know that something changed between...

Questions about class loader, singleton, upgrade to 1.6.6

I'm in the process of upgrading from 1.6.2 to 1.6.6, and some issues have appeared. Our setup: We have some zone level extensions, and each room is created dynamically with a room level extension. One of the zone level extensions has a static _instance member, which it sets to 'this' during init(), ...

No change with SFS 1.6.6 (i.e. API 1.1 works, 1.2.3 does not). Interestingly, sending an Admin message (i.e. from the Admin Tool) works fine despite a seemingly similar lack of a correct room. e.g. [SFS DEBUG] [ RECEIVED ]: <msg t='sys'>
<user id='2' /><txt>admin ...

The room definitely exists and the client knows about it (I am simultaneously drawing the room name and id during OnGUI), and the server extension passes the room id to sendModeratorMessage(), so there must be a problem with SFS not sending it out. Is it correct that r='0' is the room parameter in t...

I may have misunderstood, but I am not sure how I can ignore it. Although it is a warning, it states: "Command ignored!!" -- and that seems to be true; the message does not appear in the client's chat window with 1.2.3 (i.e. it breaks the admin messaging ability). Is there a workaround?

I have this warning too, since our code originated with the sample code, but I do not think it would cause the effect you described.

(it would be nice to get rid of it though; presumably there's a one-line call that would do it....anyone?)

Behaviour change going from 1.1 to 1.2.3

Hello, I have been using 1.1 for many months, and since we're about to start up a new phase of the project I thought it would be a good time to upgrade to the latest and greatest. I dropped the 1.2.3 SmartFoxClient.dll in my Plugins folder, fired it up, and things seemed to work fine. However when I...

I think I get what you're saying. I'm clearing the statement and resultset, but not the connection (since I didn't assign it to anything). Should it be more like: java.sql.Connection conn = _instance.db.getConnection(); stmt = conn.createStatement(...) ... finally { if( conn...
