If you're using AS2 and Flash MX 2004 it must work. Are you sure the synthax is right? Remember that AS2 is case sensitive! Please, verify your synthax and check if uppercase and lowercase character match. You can also check the documentation from Macromedia here >> http://livedocs.macromedia.com/fl...

It is generated immediately, as soon as the client connects to the server. For more info on how having Flash read the policy file from socket refer to the SmartFoxServer documentation >> Section 3.1

As soon as you enter a room you can create all your variables. That's a clean way to do it.

No problem. I've found an example that will surely help you. In the "Avatar Chat" example provided in the SFS Basic package you have the same exact type of code. When a user enters a new room the onUserEnterRoom event is fired an the client reads the User Vars of the new user and shows its avatar in...

humm... the "onJoinRoom" is fired when you enter a new room I don't understand why you should check User Variables in that point and also the object passed to the event is a Room object. You may read Room Variables when you enter a new room I find it hard to believe that there is a difference in WHI...

Hi brandon,
the sendObject() method is not filtered by the AntiFlood filter, only private and public messages are.

Are you sure you're not sending any of those?

Hi fonager,
from the code you have posted everything seems ok.

Could you post some more code so that I can see it in context? That would help in better understanding what is going on...

Thanks :)

If you experience some degree of slowness it should be related with the inevitable network lag. Both types of variables send just the minimum data possible, so they should perform equally. Also you can optimize the data sent by using a single string where data is divided by a separator or like we di...

Yes that is possible. There are a few things I can say to make things clearer: 1) When you just send the connect() command to the server you establish a connection but you're not yet recognized as "real" user in the server. You become a user once you have successfully logged in a zone. At the moment...

We're working on a similar feature that will allow to monitor each zone, start, stop and reload it. This will allow the admin to add/remove/reconfigure new applications when the server is running without restarting it

The behaviour is right, but if you're used to SmartFoxServer Lite you may suspect it is a bug. After some thinking we have changed the behaviour of the so called "Persistent" Room variables so that they exist until the user exist in the server. In other words if you create a room var called "Test" i...

Yeah, we could add that if it's needed. At the moment we're working on the next update: it will incorporate new cool features for the Administrator Tool, a couple of other enhacementes etc... Also we're gathering the first impressions from users to add fixes etc... So if we see that the user ID can ...

You're right, at the moment changes to room variables are broadcasted but the Id of the user is not passed. However, if you take a look at the "Advanced Board game" you will notice that we send the id of the user that sent the game move within the roomVars themselves. Also in that same example we sh...

Hi Paco, yes you can have your game/application on your webserver while SmartFoxServer is on another machine. This would also be the best configuration for high traffic applications, where one server runs http and db server while the other handles multiplayer connections. To do so you have just to s...

Do you use the <MaxUserIdleTime> setting? Did you try to set it to a value like 600? (10 minutes ) This way idle connections should be killed after that range of time. Another thing: when your firewall traffic analyzer shows those "ghost" connections try checking them also with netstat (netstat -an)...
