The AS 1.0 engine is based on Mozilla Rhino, which is Ecma-262 compliant. So you will find the same implementation.
I'd recommend to check the Flash help for further help on the Date object

Sounds weird. If you pass the correct colum name I can't see why you shouldn't be able to get it.

Are you sure you don't have a typo?

If you have other column names, what happens if you try to get them?

You can use the Date object. Just like in Flash. Example: var d = new Date(); trace((d.getMonth()+1)+"/"+d.getDate()+"/"+(1900+d.getYear())); getMonth returns the month number from 0 to 11 (add 1 to get the actual number) ge...

How can you bypass standard events? With SFS 1.4.0 you can completely deactivate certain events and implement your own in the extension. These new events can be handled by the client in the onExtensionResponse() method. You mean that I can write an extension and parse each public message for exampl...

interesting... there must be allot more going on "behind the scenes" than I know. I passed in the room list to the client.... I did nothing with it at all.... I just passed it to it... and things started working. Thanx for the info :) Well, what the roomList does is populate an object of the client...

Okay, I've inspected the framework and it's definitely easy to setup new connections. 8) Here's how to do it. You can access an object called __db.DbManager which will create a new connection to a new database. Here's an example of how to setup a new connection: function testDB() { var ...

Hi, at the moment each zone can setup only one connection to a database and w e usually recommend to use only one whenever possible. This helps in saving resources and keeping your application simpler. By using a Java extension it would be pretty simple to access other databases. I will experiment a...

1. in the beta it is always necessary to pass all the parameters to the joinRoom() method. It seems you're already doing it, so that's okay 2. the fact that you get an undefined is probably related to the fact that you don't have the roomList on the client side. Use the _server.sendRoomList() if you...

I'm assuming it's the latter..... assumign it is the latter, do the users within these room send messages to the users in their room using room level extensions? or zone level? Yes, it's the latter. Actually they were not using extensions at all. Just the sendPublicMessage() method from the client ...

When a user connects to SFS and joins a room.... and that room uses a zone extension... behind the scenes, does a new thread get started for that user? Or does only one thread get started for the zone no matter how many users are connected? Of course not! :) If the server would create a new...

You could use 2 approaches: 1- A new Zone for each game. This means that for each game the user will have to login in a different Zone 2- A single Zone for all games. This way you login once then choose which game to play. I only ask because I want the most efficient way of doing things. If someone ...

can an extension call a function within another extension? Generally speaking no. It could be don in Java, and yes it could be done also in AS 1 but we discourage doing so. Using more extensions for the same task can lead to problems with events etc... It's usually better to always one extension on...
