I see your point, and it seems you're predominantly referring to the java docs. At the moment we haven't spent too much time on those and there's a lot of room for improvements. You can also see that we have provided a limited number of examples in java and our main focus is the Actionscript server ...

if the full classname is -> com.myGames.extensions.myExt
Then use its full name, just like you would do inside the config.xml

Also make sure that the class is in the server classpath (if it works when called from the config.xml then you've done it right :) )

You can implement it in a server side extension.
From there you can get the list of users inside a room, a group of rooms or the entire zone and send a message to them.

I am using SmartFox Server for around two weeks and I must say that my work was bothered by a poor documentation. I see. What do you mean exactly by poor? Not enough? Or bad quality? At the moment our product is probably one of the best documented products of this type, but we're alway interested i...

The error simply indicates that you don't have access to the database.
The problems is on the DB side.
MySQL must be configured so that it not only allow your login/pass but also your IP address

keep using the .script property. If I am not wrong, it will recognize the type from the file extension.

We had it set to consume up to 532MB, and upon startup it appears to be using 508 or so.

Don't worry about that. It's probably not because of your data structures. The JVM allocates a lot of space for the heap memory. The more you give, the more it will eat :)

How can you argue that returning a wrong value here is a good thing? You can execute any member function or get any variable while you're disconnected? A -1 here might be a good debug assist to the developer. I see your point... but I don't get the problem. Once you're disconnected (and you're told...

onUserEnterRoom and onUserLeaveRoom are now not being called, but onUserVariablesUpdate still is, albeit with an undefined User object. Am I doing this wrong? shutting down those two events will prevent your local view of the users in the room from updating. Just wanted to point it out. If this is ...

I consider the fact that the sf instance continues to answer queries and return member values after its disconnected a HUGE bug. The local instance either needs to recognize that its disconnected and return values indicative of the disconnected state OR reconnect so it returns coherent answers. I d...

Nay. You can create classes in Actionscript 1 too. Example: MyClass = function(x, y, name) { this.x = x this.y = y this.name = name } MyClass.prototype.getX = function() { return this.x } MyClass.prototype.getY = function() { return this.y } MyCl...

Right, that's great, that would be what I need, but I was also hoping to allow users to be in this chat system and to be playing a game (in a different zone) at the same time. So anyone playing any game can chat with anyone else playing any other game. The idea here is that you can achieve this usi...

I guess I wasn't particularly clear, there would be no global chat room as such, just the ability to have a one-to-one conversation with anyone connected to the server. So there would be no more than a packet being sent from one person to another. The traffic with this would be minimal. Ok, great. ...
