Hello,
thanks for your feedback. Actually there's a bug lurking in the sendObjectToGroup() method on the client side.

You can quickly solve the problem by checking this post I've published a few minutes ago.

Hope it helps :)

Okay, so it seems your code is right and the API versions are also the latest available. Maybe I should see more of your code to see why you have that problem. Did you check our "Avatar Chat" example? That example uses User Variables all over... maybe you should have a look to that source code and s...

Could you please trace the version number of your client API?

Just use this code:

Code: Select all

var s = new SmartFoxClient()
trace("ver: " + s.getVersion())

Another question, what version of the API are you using? For Actionscript 1 or 2.0 ?

Thanks!

:)

the problem: the variable 'name' is always 'undefined'. can you help?

I guess you mean variable 'name1' ? ... 'name' is obviously undefined! :)

The rest of your code looks right...
What version of SFS are you using? Basic Pro? Which version number?

Thanks,

On the contrary a function with no return value is ok. I don't understand why it is possible to define a function without return and not a function with one. Can you tell me the reason ? Extensions can be written in Actionscript 1.0 (ECMA-262) but not AS 2.0, that's why you're having the problem :)...

In my configuration, inominax extension is a zone extension not a room one, so I was thinking that joining room was not needed as inominax is not dependent on any room. Yep that's true. We'll try to explain this better in the docs. Basically a user that is not logged into a Room does not make any s...

It seems you're still having problems in your network config. Do you use a firewall? If so you should make sure that it is not blocking the traffic for port 9339 Do a little test, open a windows console or a linux terminal and type this: telnet w.x.y.z 9339 where w.x.y.z is your router web address. ...

Hello Joe, you're probably invoking your extension before you're actually logged in a room. If you have followed some of the tutorials coming with SmartFoxServer you may have noticed that before a user can start interacting with the server he needs to be "somewhere"... :) In other words a user can s...

Hello and welcome :) Do you have a comparison chart that shows how you rate against other competing products? Since I've been researching and evaluating them all, I could give you a list if you'd like? (3 others so far.) No, we don't have such comparison chart. As far as I know there isn't a review ...

Quickly: 1) you use both smartfox and smartFox for the same variable... that can be a problem if you use Actionscript 2.0 and in general is a mistake. Please decide which way you want to call that variable and use just one name 2) Why do you use getVariable() in the function that handles the object?...
