Hey- Delany, the only shortcoming you are having with smart fox is because of the version you bought.... How is this a fault of the products? If you read the docs, and the forums which are all freely available before purchasing, you would have a clear understanding of which of the three server packa...

Heya- Others may disagree, but i think you have the proper setup now the way you explained it. Why? Well assume your application is a smash hit, your SFS server is gonna be getting slammed with doing stuff for smartfox, so its best to leave that machine with as much free CPU time as possible. If you...

Hello- In order to get room properties to persist, you need to use server side extensions in order to make this happen. To do so simply create a room with the owner as the server, then when you add the room properties they also belong to the server because the room they are in belongs to it, so they...

Heya- Yeah, what you want doesn't prevent you from creating server owned rooms. All you do is when the client goes to "create" a new room, you collect the information from your selection screen on what options the player wants and pass that off to a server side extension and let the extens...

Heya-

You could have the server own the room, thus owning the variables.

You of course would then need to handle cleaning up the room yourself.

Heya- So as for how to work resizing a room at runtime. Could you not just have the function change the number, then raise a ROOM_SIZE_CHANGED event which could be responded to via extensions allowing each person to implement there own strategy for removal of players if needed? Sounds like the best ...

Heya- While i see the reasoning behind both users needing to be online to stop flood attacks, does this really stop them? Im assuming when you goto add a buddy, it checks the list of people who are online to see if such a a person exists. If they do, great we add em, if not, we stop right there. How...

Heya- To Lapo- I Understand how getRoomList works, and how room lists keep updated. That was not my question. Bax implied improper use could cause problems. Why did Bax say to request an updated room list very carefully and not as common behavior? What would be an improper use of getRoomList/sendRoo...

Heya-

The white papers, provided in the online, and downloaded documentation that comes with smartfox can better answer the question as to how many clients COULD be connected to the server.

Hope that helps,

Heya- Ok, now that i have a bit beter understanding of a few things. 1) If i remember correctly bax said something at some point about being careful of how/where you call getRoomList after the first time. I dont remeber if he said more as to why not to, or what would happen. But perhaps what you are...

Heya- Couple question for ya. 1) Are you using a server side extension that handles custom logins. If so can you post the code? 2)When you join the game room, do you keep the character in a lobby room? Or do you have them leave your lobby, and enter just the game room? 3) The reason what i quoted be...

Heya- When using a custom login (which it sounds like you are), you must send/ request the roomlist from the server before you can autoJoin, or join a room. If i remember correctly from when i was having this problem, attempting to autoJoin a room will "appear" to work at first, but then p...

Hey- I have not used the included h2db that comes with sfs, but i can tell you what the error means. It means its connecting to your database, but you dont have a table named UTENTI in the database. Table names are case sensitive, so if the name of the table is Utenti as you typed it in second parag...
