make a trace on your u var for (var u in amici){ trace(u) trace(amici[u] + "\n"); } I had a similar problem not long ago and it turns out I had declared prototypes for arrays, witch was always being assigned whenever I pulled out a user or room list. Solut...

Handling concurrency on SFS Pro

Hello there my fellow SFS companions. This isn't a bug, so no need to pull your guns out :) My question is more of a "how should I code": Here is the deal: I'm always trying to make very friendly lobbies interfaces, and my attempts haven't been very successful using the old SFS Basic, and ...

A good method of prediction used in most of the MMOs nowadays is only sending the initial value of the client input. An example: Instead of sending the ball position in real-time, send only the direction and speed where its heading, and let the other client handle the rest. On a platform game for ex...

The problem I have with concurrency is basically when 2 users try to do the same thing at the same time. Happens pretty often in my client engine. Like a problem I have quite often in the lobby: A player creates a game. Another player joins it at the same time as some other player. Even thou the fir...

thanks lapo that was exactly the issue :) -silly me- I'll post some neet examples of how things are going on this new version of my client engine for Ederon.com As far as I'm concern the only issue I'll probably have to deal with like bax said is concurrency, but so far I haven't found a easy...

Creating room not triggering SFS Basic 1.5.5

One thing that is killing me here. Im trying to create a room and I have no response from the server: When I try to do this: var room:Object = new Object; room.name = _root.clan; room.isGame = false; room.maxUsers = 10000; smartfox.createRoom(room, clanRoomID) clanRoomCreated = true; I get th...

Simple issue: Join/Create Rooms

This is probably real simple but I can't find a related topic about it on the search. Here is the deal: User enters in the lobby. If he is in a Clan, join a clan room. Clan Room does not exist? create Clan Room. I first thought the best way would probably be around onJoinRoomError or onCreateRoomErr...

Cool thanks a lot Lapo :)
After that update I'll possibly migrate to PRO since I'm currently using 1.5.5 Basic.
Just hope I don't have to mess too much with my config file or the engine :)

SmartFoxBasic 1.5.5, 500 users license :) I've noticed most of the most interesting updates go to the PRO, but since there is not much use for me right now of that version I'm sticking with that one. The other thing that worries me is possible migration problems, but besides that is just the fact th...

yep my post about force login focus on the same issue. It would be very very nice if SFS had an extra parameter on the login() class that would allow us to force the connection to the server rather then work on these limited work around :)
That would solve A LOT of validated login issues.

Right now its almost impossible to even control the old versions. After I created an undependable version of the engine websites everywhere stared posting the SWF. I'd say, if that is not very hard, in a future upgrade, make a small paramether on login() so it can force a login, disconnecting the us...

If they had an online chat support it would be great :D But hey, we're talking about an excellent product that suppress all needs from a "not so big" group of clients. It is not like everyone that uses Flash will use SFS, so just for the fact that we have an amazing group of dedicated crea...

Force Login possibilities

Hello there all mighty SFS staff! I searched around a lot in the forum, but I just couldn't find a clear solution for this small issue. Is there a easy way to make a "force login" feature? I read in some other topic there was a "not so safe" scenario where when the user logs in, ...
