I *might* be wrong about all the zones not responding to requests - it might just lock the one zone, at least in this one case I found. I noticed in this instance when it happened the other zone was still working okay. INFO | jvm 1 | 2007/11/26 21:28:18 | Exception in thread "EventWriter-2"...

I'm using Windows 2003 Server with SP2 with 4 gigs memory and 2 dual core amds. I've switched servers about 3 different times and I've always got this error (Windows 2003 servers - some intel chips). I just assumed it was my code that was locking up until I just recently realized that all other zone...

Server not responding randomly - urgent help needed

I'm not sure to go with this, but it's driving me crazy. The SFS just randomly stops responding to all requests. I have a port monitor setup but it still responds when this happens so I have no way of knowing about it until I wake up to 20 messages from upset people. I have two different zones and b...

Right now I've decided to just put everything in one room. So basically I load all the maps into a structure, and monsters into a structure when the extension starts. When a player logs in the are added to the player structure I run a set interval every 500ms that: 1) loop through the players/monste...

Thanks for the response. I figured as much. I'm re-writing my code to put it all in one extension. I'm just not up for messing with Java at this point. It looks like I'm making some progress - I guess I'll let you know soon. Thanks again for the help. Seems like a lot of looping to figure out who to...

Need to access global variables for MMORPG

I have a MMORPG that loads 1000's of players into memory. It's broken up into 100 different maps - which are each rooms with their own extension to control movement of players and monsters. Each map might have 50 monsters in a monster={} struct. People walk around on various maps. Each map has their...
