I noticed in another thread that by default the ^ character is filtered in zones for usernames. I have user's with usernames that use that character and when logged into smartfox server it is stripped.
Is there any way I can prevent it from stripping this character or a workaround?

I just downloaded the 1.6.1 full install to my local PC and in doing this I noticed my admin tool displaying v. 1.6.1 at the bottom (like it should). However I realized that my server installation has always displayed 1.6.0. I previously had 1.6.0 and had installed the 1.6.1 patch but it looks like ...

Troubleshooting Can't Connect errors
After updating my server to SFSPro 1.6.1 many of my users are saying that are having problems connecting. I've been trying to gather data to find out the issue but it's very hard to get any details of why people are having problems - users that used to be able to connect fine are having problems con...

Bluebox - simple how do I use it?
I have upgraded to SFPro 1.6.0 and recompiled my SWF with the latest API. From what I have read "no code adjustments need to be made to use bluebox, simply recompile". However, when I got to my SFS Admin tool and click the bluebox monitor it always says "HTTP Server: Not Running"...

I looked into 2 other options when looking at at smartfoxserver and the reason I chose this over others was the active community here. Even though it might not be totally buzzing around here all the time, I usually get some type of answer within a day or two at the most. Regarding the other options ...

On further testing, when I copy my backedup version of the bannedUsers file to my server and view this file I can see a list of usernames, etc. When I launch the AdminTool then view the banner user list it is blank. Then when I go back to my server and view the bannedUsers file all these usernames a...

Banned list did not convert across to SFS 1.6.0
I backed up my bannedUsers.sfs file and copied it across to the new SFS 1.6.0 folder after installing and restarted and the banned users list did not copy across to the new server.
Any suggestions?

I have this same issue - users being disconnected by their ISP then getting the username taken error. The workaround being suggested makes the idletime useless. If you send a ping every 30 seconds, then a user is never idle. I still want someone who is idle for 10 minutes to be logged out. Any ideas?
