Re: Thinking on how to implement NPCs
Ok thanks for the info
I'll look into the elastic license out of curiosity.
In my case, the 25-30 players game usually has 10 bots in it as eatable civilians, so 300 players results in 100 bots, which is fine really, if i have 300+ concurrent users, it'll be a nice problem to have

Re: Server shutdown after start SFS2X 2.12
Yeah seems like a very weird issue and hard to track or understand. For now I'm back on 2.9 which works fine. Is there a 2.10 or 2.11 version which could improve the server without breaking like 2.12 does? In any case, I will try 2.12 again when I'm further in the dev cycle of this game so I can giv...

Re: Thinking on how to implement NPCs
Could you expand on the logic/reasoning on this? Per-user licenses always applies to human users, I've never seen a license where the software will consume your "seats/users", I mean I could code NPCs to not use the user system but that seems overkill. This model is like limiting the numbe...

Re: Waiting for socket policy file on port 843?
This is some obscure stuff, is this documented somewhere? I just fixed a problem with my server where way too many people were connecting through http instead of socket but I got the info from a bunch of forum threads, fixing my config/crossdomain and fixing the firewall for port rules on port 843 a...

Re: Thinking on how to implement NPCs
Hey guys, is it still normal that NPCs count in the CCU count and eat up my license? I understand they work as users but that seems weird to count in the license limitations.

Re: Server shutdown after start SFS2X 2.12
It's the 64 bits version, just like the previous 2.9 version, so for now I went back to 2.9 and it's working.

Re: Server shutdown after start SFS2X 2.12
I also have the same problem, 2.9 worked fine, did an update to 2.12, didn't work, did a fresh install to a new folder, still not working, same issue, starting the service, it stops right away. Nothing weird in the log as far as I can see. OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard http://127.0.0.1:8080 gi...

Re: Server reponse received in the wrong order
I'm unable to set the backup thread values to 0, it just resets to 1. Is that normal? It seems to fix my issue as far as my testing goes but yeah, can't set these values to 0 like you told me to.

Re: Server reponse received in the wrong order
So I was trying to find an extension setting but are you talking about the global server configurator where it says Extension Thread Pool? If so, would I set Core threads to 1 and Backup threads and Maximum backups to 0? or I don't touch the backup values? Can you only do it globally for all extensi...

Re: Server reponse received in the wrong order
Thanks for the clarification, it makes sense, threads finishing in different orders. What I suggest is to discriminate in your Extension code between code expected to be slow (e.g. database calls) vs anything else and delegate the former to a dedicated ThreadPool (which is no big deal, one line of c...
