Hi all,
It's a rather newbie question however we're currently auditing our game security and appreciate any information to close any gap in our security swoop.
As far as I know SFS2X is using TCP/IP and not RTMP (maybe RedBox is?). Is this correct?
Thank you!

Permanent IP blacklisting – not working as expected?
Hi there, We are attempting to add a number of IP addresses to a permanent blacklist to prevent them ever accessing our Smartfox instances. We are using the Server Configurator, and specifically the IP filter blacklist. We have added the IP addresses to the blacklist and performed tests, however the...

Re: Disconnecting properly in Unity
I'm experiencing the same problem and I'm using Unity Pro 3.5.f6. Scenario #1: 1. Hit the play button in Unity editor and login screen appears 2. Stop the test. Log: gui_Login.RegisterSocketClientListeners() UnityEngine.Debug:Log(Object) SocketClient.OnApplicationQuit: Application quits UnityEngine....

Involuntary manual disconnection
Hi guys, I searched the forum without any luck on this topic. But let me know if I just wasn't trying hard enough. In our game I've put an analytics code that tracks the disconnection reason so that we can see the percentage of people who disconnected without being idle. Although "idle" is...

Re: How to catch BlueBox security sandbox error?
Hi Lapo, is there any news on this yet? I've been following closely the patches and we are running SFS 2.3.0. Is there a way to catch the BlueBox Errors yet? ## BlueBox Error: Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/BlueBox/BlueBox.do ## SecurityError: [SecurityErrorEvent type=&q...

Null object reference on handleLogout
I'm getting the following null pointer exception when the server sends the client a LOGOUT event: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.smartfoxserver.v2::SmartFox/handleLogout()[/Users/Lapo/Documents/Flex Builder 3/SFS2X_AS3_API/src/com/smartf...

Re: Auto reconnection mechanism problem
I have a question though, should we always freeze the GUI while reconnecting? Say, if whatever the client does during CONNECTION_RETRY is not detrimental to decision making (i.e. submitting chat messages that can pretty much be ignored without any effect to the gameplay), is it okay to just let the ...

Re: SocketDataError problem!
Thanks. We're in the process of updating to 2.2.0. From the release notes it seems like the following line is related to this issue? [FIX] Improved buffering strategy for highly fragmented traffic. If so, do you mind telling us any information about the issue and what was fixed so that we can perfor...

Re: SocketDataError problem!
We also experienced this problem, but now we couldn't investigate what was going on as we could no longer reproduce it. The symptoms were very similar: 1. Login to the game 2. Idle for 2-3 minutes 3. Everyone else in the room stops moving / talking 4. Console reports SocketDataError: ## SocketDataEr...

Re: User is already logged in Zone
Hi, we're also experiencing the same problem with the ghost connection, with the problem appearing intermittently when we have 250 concurrent connections or more. Has anyone found out how to close the connection, or get around the CLOSE_WAIT problem, or fix it on a lower level? I can't seem to find ...

How to catch BlueBox security sandbox error?
Hi guys, We chose not to use BlueBox for the moment in a project, my question is how to handle the BlueBox security sandbox error (if users are behind firewalls, or ports are blocked, etc.): Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: http://[ip]/[app.swf]?ve...
