Re: isEncrypted tag causes server to not start

My colleague was indeed on version 2.9 and that was the culprit. I apologize for posting incorrect info. Thanks for the prompt assistance.

isEncrypted tag causes server to not start

A colleague of mine is unable to start his version of the server when the <isEncrypted> tag is present in our zone.xml file. The thing is that I use the exact same zone file and have no problem running the server. We are both running the latest version of the server (2.11.0). The only difference bet...

Re: Error when saving xml to room variable

I believe I discovered the issue. It is when there is a '\r' in the string ie a carriage return. If I strip my string of '/r' before sending it to the server there is no problem. I do think that the Admin tool should accomodate for this. There could be a scenario where I user does want to save a bod...

Re: Error when saving xml to room variable

Thanks for testing. Some points of note - The variable is a persistent one and I use the JavaScript API to set it. Not sure if that could help diagnose the issue.

Re: Error when saving xml to room variable

I'm using the latest version (2.10.0) Just to clarify - It is not that I can't save the XML as a room variable - this works fine - in my zone settings I have the variable configured as a 'STRING' - It's just that when I go to Monitor the room in the 'zone monitor' that is when the Server produces th...

[Resolved] - Error when saving xml to room variable

I've got a block of XML that I want to save as a room variable - It generally works in the App but when I try to monitor the room in the Admin tool I get the following runtime error net.sf.json.util.JSONTokener.syntaxError(JSONTokener.java:527) net.sf.json.util.JSONTokener.nextString(JSONTokener.jav...

Make sure that USER_ENTER_EVENT / USER_ACTIVE_EVENT / USER_COUNT_CHANGE_EVENT are available inside the Room in the Zone Monitor If they are in the right column of the Permissions and Events tab of the Room Monitor then those events wont fire. You can change those in the Room Configuration section of...

Very interesting stuff, I'd love it if you would share more of this info.

In terms of optimizations I can only suggest you make sure that any unnecessary events don't get distributed and maybe you can increase the room count update interval if you are using that feature.

Admin tool request

Was wondering if it would be possible to add a user var/room var object browser. Currently our application is sharing several complex room vars that contain SFSObjects with multiple properties and it would help our debugging if we could just examine those objects in real time in the admin tool. Thanks

Turns out it is possible with the room variables - I am sure the exact same thing will work with the Room - public void handleServerEvent(ISFSEvent event) throws SFSException { List<RoomVariable> l = (List<RoomVariable>) event.getParameter(SFSEventParam.VARIABLES); for &...

Actually if the event already occurred that is fine with me, i just want to take the newly created room or room-variables and turn them into never-delete, is this possible?

Trap server side create room event / set room variables

I am looking to trap these events to make the newly created room/room variables persist (as in not delete when the creator leaves the server) How can I achieve this using the server addEventHandler() method? I would prefer to do it this way rather than writing a custom extension since I can just lev...

Documentation Error - SFSEvent.ROOM_VARIABLES_UPDATE - error

According to the documentation listed here - http://docs2x.smartfoxserver.com/api-docs/csharp-doc/html/fd741c3b-9efc-b574-40a1-74c1532a82a2.htm - this event should fire List<RoomVariable> but instead is firing an ArrayList which only contains the name of the variable modified, it does not contain th...

Unity Web Project / Working on MAC

Hi, since the SFS2X client API is inside a DLL I was wondering about 2 things. First, how does this work with a web player build of unity since the user can't download a DLL in that case. Also, what if I want to run the application using the MAC version of Unity, is the DLL still the way to use it o...
