access to SFS2X password encryption

Hi

can I manually use the SFS2x password encryption in AS3 and then manually retrieve the clear text password on the server somehow?

Or does it only work with a LoginRequest and checkSecurePassword?

I'm asking because I'm using my additional hashing + salting on the server.

Thanks

ok, seems to be working now.
perhaps because i wasn't using the sfs2x.bat file.

btw, just setup remote debugging, works great, but only when using the custom bat file as described by gabrielt:

I just updated to RC3, now my traces are also missing in the console, but they're written to the log. here's my log4j.properties: #log4j.category.com.smartfoxserver.v2=DEBUG,consoleAppender,fileAppender,socketAppender log4j.category.com.smartfoxserver=INFO,consoleAppender,fileAppender log4j.category...

Error decoding UtfString

But I'm getting the following error on the Server: WARN [SocketReader] protocol.SFSProtocolCodec - Error deserializing request: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Error decoding UtfString. Negative size: -3154 This only happens...

So how do i get the xml file to the client?

It's not automatically downloaded with the swf, and even if it were, the clients security restrictions won't allow to read an xml file.

I don't quite understand how I'm supposed to accomplish setting up bluebox.

thanks.

yes, i switched everything to apache queryrunner for simple queries/updates.
it's very easy to use:
http://commons.apache.org/dbutils/examples.html

when i have to retrieve the generated keys i use PreparedStatement directly.
