SmartfoxServer vs Adobe LCCS

Hello, I just found out about Adobe LCCS, which seems to be a competitor in sense. Although I was just making some calcs, and the bandwidth based pricing of LCCS makes it a bit pricey it seems. ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplatform/services/collaboration ) You can see the prices here: http://f...

Adobe Stratus enables P2P audio video multicast

Hello, Flash Player 10.1 enables P2P audio video connections inculding multicasting for one to many. This seems to me is capable of replacing RedBox. Any plans to implement Stratus instead or next to the Red5 server? Some more info: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/features.html http...

In order to install Red5 on a different hardware, you have to move its folder to the new machine and share it, so that the RedBox extension can reach it. Finally you have to enter the path to this folder in the redbox.properties file contained in the SmartFoxServer main folder. As regards, your sec...

Thanks Lapo, looks impressive. I also done some calcs and starting with a smaller instance looks pretty cheap as well. I assume this AMI contains the RedBox as well right? :) In case of growth would I still have to do this load balancing terracotta voodoo I have read about around here, or with Amazo...

Is this the way one can control the bandwidth used by a stream?

This would be important for us, because I am trying to calculate the bandwidth requirements for our Red5 enabled app. Or maybe can I set a kbps limit per stream on the Red5 server?

Hi Lapo,

Any plans on integrating the red5.sh with the sfs sh script?

I would like to add it to init.d, or make sure that red5 starts together with sfs for a server restart.

Cheers,
G
