Since its impossible to get the SFS to be accessible on any of my own computers (as you can see here: viewtopic.php?t=88 ), I was wondering if any webhotels you know of allow you to install it there? Heh, yeah, a longshot, but I could be lucky

Well, I tried uninstalling all software-firewalls, and the problem continued. I tried another thing, just for fun (didnt think it would work), and entered http://www.smartfoxserver.com as ip in the simpleConnect-example. Try nmap, it's available for many OS(s) including windows >> http://www.insecure.org/nmap/nmap_download.html (scroll down a bit for the windows version) if you use it from the command line just type: nmap w.x.y.z to scan an IP address :) I could have sworn nmap only worked on linux etc. and not win...
