Re: sfs2x on nitrous free account
Ok, I have it running. Dunno why I didn't try that script before ;). Actually I didn't run it, because I wanted to see the output in the console :) (but I see that I can browse the logs). Actually the docs say that either option should work .... true ? .... maybe not ? ;) I noticed that the service ...

Re: SignupAssistantComponent problem
Is the mail service correctly configured in the Admin Tool's Server Configurator module? Can you double check? I just ran into the same problem,.... for the same reason (email not activated). Is there an error handler in the mailer service (that perhaps was not setup in this example ?) If not, the ...

Re: SmartFoxServer 2X and Jelastic
In the jelastic blog post, they show a "vds" button they used to setup SFS2x. Is that because SFS2x is a "standalone" application? In my free demo account there is no VDS button (I emailed them asking about it). On your (presumably paid Jelastic account), is the VDS what you used...

Re: SmartFoxServer 2X and Jelastic
Hi Lapo, Heh, dumb me, I just looked at my jelastic control panel again, and it shows you immediately all kinds of pricing info when you go into the "change environment dialog. The minimum setting is 128meg memory, is that enough for the server + ??? how many clients. ? If not, I guess I can in...

Re: SmartFoxServer 2X and Jelastic
I read the blog post and signed up for a free trial account, hoping to test SFS2x. Unfortunately the free/demo account is quite limited (can only install one existing demo app, no FTP etc). The minimum sign up is $50, which I'm thinking of trying. Are these guys the best option for hosting ? Accordi...

Re: No instance called 'traffic' is defined
I've fixed the problem. It seems it is caused by incorrect zone configuration data / real file system path mismatches. I was creating / deleting zones, moving / deleting directories, in a somewhat 'un-organized' fashion 8) When I got everything sync'd up, the message disapeared, and the zone monitor...

Re: Does not implement ISFSExtension issue
The problem is fixed. (This has also resolved the "No instance called 'traffic' is defined" problem) Before I get into the details, I'm curious about : >>The Tris Extension by default is not loaded at startup as I mentioned. What does "loaded" mean here, (compared to other extens...

Re: Does not implement ISFSExtension issue
In the Tris game the Extension is attached dynamically to the each Room game when they are created. You should make doubly sure that the Extension name passed from client side matches the correct class name and package. Also make sure that you don't have compilation errors and that you are deployin...

An SFS2X extension must extend either BaseSFSExtension or SFSExtension from the com.smartfoxserver.v2.extensions package. See the docs for more details: http://docs2x.smartfoxserver.com/AdvancedTopics/server-side-extensions Scroll down to the "A peek at the Extension API" section If your ...

Re: No instance called 'traffic' is defined
I'm getting the same error, after just installing / running the latest SFS2x
What does that message mean ?
.. Or what does the server "think" it means ?

Re: How do you encapsulate extension logic?
Actually I tried SFS2X before Pro. I ran into into a bunch of problems with it, and so tried Pro. It's a shame that that javascript extensions aren't in SFS2x. I'll probably "bite the bullet" and try to get the Java extensions working. I find setting up Java / Eclipse, and working with Jav...

Re: How do you encapsulate extension logic?
Lapo wrote:If you're using SmartFoxServer PRO, as I presume, then yes you can use AS/JS or Python or Java.
Yes I'm using the current Pro server.
What level of AS is supported by the server-extensions?
Is the "external class file / syntax" supported ?
thx

Re:
Classes are not supported like that in AS1/Javascript. Here is a good tutorial on using classes that you can follow: http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2006/06/07/object-oriented-javascript.html Is this still the case ? Are sfsExtensions still AS1 ? (it seems to be, as I just tried the above class example an...
