TLS 1.0 support in SmartFoxServer

Postby mw77 » 21 Jun 2017, 16:20

Hello,

I was wondering if connections over TLS 1.0 were supported by SmartFoxServer 2x at the moment? According to SmartFoxServer 2X Security White Paper, TLS 1.2 was used. However, I was not quite sure if that meant that TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 connections was allowed as well? Or TLS 1.2 connections were the only allowed?

I will much appreciate your help.

Thank you!

Hello,
I think this depends on the settings of the JVM.

Out of the box TLS1, TLS1.1 are still supported by the SSL protocol negotiation under JRE 1.8.x so in theory a client using TLS1.0 or TLS1.1 should be able to successfully connect.

However you can re-configure the disabled protocols under JRE/lib/security/java.security to exclude those clients.
Take a look here for more details:

Hope it helps
