Characters are not identified

Postby gamaroot » 25 Sep 2013, 14:54

Hi,

When I input in the chat some characters are not identified, for example, the input "ç á é í ó ú à ü". When I receive this message on the OnPublicMessage event I have this content "?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ??".

anyone can help me?

thanks,
Carlos Gama.

Occasionally we have seen this happen when there are issue with the UTF-8 encoding at the lower level.
SmartFoxServer already ships with its own JVM configured to use UTF-8 to ensure that any character from any language is transmitted correctly.

Can you give me more details?
SFS version and API version? (make sure they are the latest)
OS used on the server side.

I would also recommend to run the provided Flash SimpleChat example and see if the same problem manifests.

Thanks
Lapo
