Need an advice

Postby NickKnive » 11 Jul 2017, 06:02

Good morning. Recently I have read an article concerning this issue. It was mentioned, that
cheapest cdn
is much better than usual web-hosting.
I wanted to ask how reliable these systems are?

Are you asking this in the context of running SmartFoxServer on it, or is it something else?

thanks

Hi Lapo, I'm not sure what Nick meant, but that is exactly what I'd like to know. How reliable are those to run SmartFoxServer on?

A CDN is used to serve mostly static content. For example Steam uses a CDN to deliver videogame files to all its customers.

SmartFoxServer instead is a multiplayer server and as such does not deliver big files. Instead it uses persistent connections to coordinate and synchronize players across the world.

You can use your own dedicated hosting, or a cloud solution. SmartFoxServer's requirements are pretty low, even with 512MB of RAM and a dual core you can already manage thousands of concurrent players.

If you're interested in testing it online check our cloud options here:

Thanks
Lapo
