Are the SmartFoxBits Community Edition free?
Yes, the Community Edition can be downloaded and used for free, even in commercial projects.

What are the limitations of the free Community Edition?
The only limitation is that you're not allowed to remove the copyright notices and relative links from the components.
If you want to hide / remove the "powered by SmartFoxServer" graphics you will need to buy a commercial license.

I'd like to remove the "powered by SmartFoxServer" text from the components, what should I do?
You should buy a commercial license. All commercial versions of the SmartFoxBits components don't show any copyright notices. You can find all the buying informations at this page.

Can I use the Community Edition for commercial applications?
Yes, you can.

Can I obtain the SmartFoxBits sources?
Yes, you can buy the "unlimited with sources" license, which comes with the full source code of the components.

Can I redistribute the components?
No, all commercial licenses are non re-distributable.
You can only redistribute compiled Flash applications (.swf or .swc) containing the SmartFoxBits components.
You are not allowed to redistribute any Flash source file (.fla) containing the SmartFoxBits components, with the only exception of the SmartFoxBits Community Edition.

How do I buy a license?
We have an online shop at this page. After you have submitted the order and proceeded to payment you will receive
the product files.

Which payment methods are available?
You can pay with PayPal or by wire transfer (SWIFT). On PayPal, you can pay using credit card (all major cards supported) or your PayPal account.

I want to upgrade to a new license, what should I do?
The price for the upgrade is the difference between your current license and the new one.

Which Flash versions are supported by the SmartFoxBits components?
SmartFoxBits components require Flash MX 2004 or higher and they can be exported for Flash Player 7, 8 and 9 (ActionScript 2.0).

How do I install the SmartFoxBits components?
Simply unzip the components package and double click the provided .mxp file/s. The components will be then available in the Components Panel inside the Flash authoring environment.
If nothing happens after double clicking you probably need to install or upgrade the Adobe Extension Manager.
In Adobe Flash CS3 make sure you are using ActionScript 2.0 for coding.

Are there any examples of usage available?
Yes, examples are provided inside the components package, in the examples folder.

Where do I find the SmartFoxBits documentation?
The documentation comes in two formats: Flash doc and Html. The Flash documentation can be installed in the Flash authoring environment by clicking the specific .mxp file provided together with the components package.
The Html documentation can be found in the docs folder inside the components package and online
at the following url: http://www.smartfoxserver.com/bits/docs/asDoc.

What else do I need to start using the SmartFoxBits?
You should have installed a version of SmartFoxServer 1.5.5 or higher to use the components and try the examples. Check the SmartFoxServer BASIC or PRO product pages to download a free copy.

Is there an example on how to skin the components?
Yes, you can find skinning instructions and examples in the documentation page.
