Licensing system

The SmartFoxBits are distributed in pre-built "packs", each containing one or more components. Each pack can be purchased under one of the following licenses.

"Standard" license
According to this license, you can use the SmartFoxBits components on an unlimited number of websites.

"Source code" license
According to this license, you can use the SmartFoxBits components on an unlimited number of websites. You can also modify and recompile the components' source files as you need, provided that you do not re-distribute them as standalone products.

Also, all the licenses are subject to the following terms:

•  you can install the SmartFoxBits components on an unlimited number of workstations at any time, independently of the number of licenses you purchased;
• you can distribute the components only as part of a software application product (and not the Components standalone) developed by you, in which the SmartFoxBits add functionality to your application.

Available packs

The following packs are currently available (more will be realesed in the future).

SmartFoxBits Base Pack
It's the basic package, containing all the components which are fundamental in the development of a multiuser application:

• SmartFoxBits Connector
• SmartFoxBits LoginBox
• SmartFoxBits ChatBox
• SmartFoxBits RoomList
• SmartFoxBits UserList

Requirements

In order to use the SmartFoxBits components you need the following products to be correctly installed and running:

ActionScript 3 + SmartFoxServer 2X version

• Adobe Flash CS4 (or higher) or Adobe Flex Builder 3 (or higher)
• SmartFoxServer 2X RC1 (or higher)

ActionScript 3 + SmartFoxServer Pro / Basic version

• Adobe Flash CS4 (or higher) or Adobe Flex Builder 2.0.1 (or higher)
• SmartFoxServer BASIC / PRO 1.5.9 (or higher)

ActionScript 2 version

• Adobe Flash MX 2004 (or higher)
• SmartFoxServer BASIC / PRO 1.5.5 (or higher)

Free edition

As an alternative to the commercial licenses, you can download the free version of the our basic package, the "SmartFoxBits Base Pack 'Community Edition'". You can use these components without limitations even in commercial projcts, but you are not allowed to remove or hide our logo and the link to our website.
